Judging principles

Three commitments shape every decision

Independent

JIMSO is not owned by, or run on behalf of, any product it evaluates. Reviewers and jurors assess entries on their merits. Payment covers an independent review - nothing more.

Evidence-based

Every claim is tested against evidence. Jurors score what an entry can demonstrate: outcomes, product quality and the value delivered to real users. Assertions without support carry no weight.

Selective

Up to five finalists reach the shortlist in each category, and a single winner is named - or none, if the quality threshold is not met. Recognition means something because it is hard to earn.

The annual model

Seasonal recognition feeds one yearly benchmark

JIMSO runs four seasonal cycles a year. Each names its own finalists and winners. Every seasonal finalist then qualifies automatically, and free of charge, for the Annual JIMSO Awards in late January.

A controlled number of annual-only entries is admitted - capped at no more than 30 percent of the annual shortlist. The annual round names category winners and one overall JIMSO Product of the Year.

JIMSO does not promise press coverage, leads, customers or investment. It offers an honest, independent evaluation and a credential you can stand behind.

Independent recognition: An assessment from a program with no stake in your product.
A public, verifiable profile: A permanent JIMSO award page that anyone can check.
A qualified badge: A mark tied to your specific category, cycle and result.
Editorial exposure: Inclusion in JIMSO's published finalist and winner coverage.
Annual qualification: Every seasonal finalist advances to the Annual JIMSO Awards at no extra cost.
Sales and employer-brand use: A credible third-party signal for buyers, candidates and stakeholders.
